Bio Safety Cabinets

Cleanair® Biosafety Cabinets

Biosafety cabinets are biocontainment equipment used in biological laboratories to provide personnel, environmental, and product protection. It is considered as one of the most important engineering controls which is used to prevent exposure to contamination by biohazardous agents. It is used whenever there is a risk of splash or aerosol formation from biohazardous or potentially biohazardous materials in a laboratory atmosphere. Biosafety Cabinet are equipped with germicidal UV-C lamps with wavelength of 254 nM to decontaminate the interior surface.
Cleanair Biosafety Cabinets are made from anti-microbial epoxy coated in GI or in IS304 SS construction. Special features include fully automatic motorized sliding front door, sensor-based digital differential pressure monitoring system, PLC based control panel with feather-touch switches, etc.
Cleanair Biosafety cabinets are available in following three types:

Cleanair®Class II Type A2 Biosafety Cabinet

Cleanair® Class II A2 Biohazard Safety Cabinets provide personnel, product and environment protection. Class II A2 Cabinets differ in airflow proportion as 70% air is re-circulated within the cabinet through high efficiency particulate air (HEPA) filtration remaining 30% air is discharged out. Velocity of airflow to the work zone creates an ultra-clean environment for product protection. An air barrier between the operator and the work zone is maintained by a flow of room air through a full width grille in the work opening. The barrier air mixes with the laminar flow air in a sump underneath the work surface, and is discharged to the outside environment through a H14 grade HEPA filter. Class II A2 cabinets are recommended to use in any mild to low level hazardous material only. Installation of exhaust duct is not mandatory for A2 cabinets since it is not recommended to use with hazardous pathogens.

Cleanair®Class II Type B2 Biosafety Cabinet

“Cleanair® Class II Type B2 Biohazard Safety Cabinets provide personnel, product, and environmental protection. This Series of cabinets are referred to as “total exhaust” cabinets because the 100% contaminated air is exhausted to the atmosphere after HEPA filtrations without re-circulating in the cabinet.
Laminar airflow enclosures with High Efficiency Particulate Air (HEPA) filtration of exhaust air and an air barrier at the work opening. HEPA-filtered Vertical laminar airflow, which is discharged to the work zone, creates an ultra-clean work environment for product protection. An air barrier between the operator and the work zone is maintained by a flow of room air into a full width grille of the work opening. The barrier air mixes with the laminar flow air in a sump underneath the work surface, and is exhausted to the outside environment via a H14 grade HEPA filter. To contain potentially hazardous aerosols, negative pressure zones surround all the positive pressure zones and Filter sealing.
B2 cabinets are suitable to use with low to medium hazardous non-aerosol pathogens and exhaust duct is mandatory. We also recommend to install virus burn-out unit for greater safety of the environment.

Cleanair®Class III Biosafety Cabinet :

“Cleanair® Class III Bio Safety Cabinet is defined as a totally enclosed ventilated unit of airtight construction. Operations in the cabinet are conducted through glove-ports. The Cabinet unit is maintained under negative pressure. Supply air is drawn into the cabinet through HEPA filters. The exhaust air is treated by ULPA filtration and incinerations. This type of cabinet system provide the means to control air borne particulates contaminants including micro – organisms determined to be potentially harmful to personnel the product and the environment. Class III cabinets are suitable to use with highly contagious micro-organisms such as HIV, H1N1 Flu, SARS, Rabies, etc., cancer drug mixing and other infectious aerosol.
Special features include built-in virus burn-out unit, transfer hatch attachment.
